Obedience Training

At It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy, our Group Obedience courses offer structure and fun, all guided by a trusted local dog trainer. Limited to just 12 dogs and owners, this seven-week program provides personalized attention and effective strategies. Each one-hour class is reinforced with daily 45-minute practice to ensure your dog masters vital skills. Your dog will be introduced to key commands like heel, down stays, recall, sit, and loose leash walking while addressing undesirable behaviors. The curriculum also incorporates greetings, maintaining obedience around distractions up to 30 feet, nutrition, and daily exercise. After completing the course, two additional levels of Intermediate Obedience provide opportunities to advance skills. These programs help prepare your dog for AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine certifications, which provide recognition, legal advantages, and proof of good manners. AKC® Trick Dog Classes

Take part in the AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and discover six weeks of lively bonding with your cherished pet! During the course, your dog will practice amusing tricks like crawling, spinning in circles, barking on cue, jumping through a hoop, high-fiving, shaking paws, playing dead, and more entertaining behaviors. Once your dog successfully demonstrates a required number of these tricks, they can be awarded the AKC® “Intermediate” or “Novice” Trick Dog Title.

During the Novice evaluation, dogs are expected to perform 10 tricks (or 5 if they also have a CGC title), while the Intermediate evaluation requires another 10 tricks beyond that. Our program is conducted under the guidance of AKC®-certified CGC Evaluators and welcomes dogs who are at least 6 months old and have finished Basic Obedience or comparable courses. This is an exciting way to bond, polish skills, and enjoy meaningful time with your dog!

AKC® Urban CGC

Take part in our AKC® CGC dog training services for a practical, straightforward path to improving canine manners in public environments. This class helps dogs handle daily challenges like exposure to stores, heavy traffic, bustling crowds, and more. Classes are held on Saturdays at 1:00 pm, with the program finishing in an evaluation test. Dogs are required to have an AKC® registration number and the Canine Good Citizen title prior to enrolling. Aggressive behavior is not allowed, but both adopted and service dogs qualify for a $10 discount. If your dog struggles with reactivity, we can connect you to a dog reactivity trainer or dog aggression trainer.

Service Dog Training

Our Temple City service dog training program provides comprehensive instruction led by a certified service dog trainer to give dogs the skills they need for effective service work. Each K-9 trainer begins the process with a complimentary consultation and assessment to determine the dog’s aptitude and the type of assistance they require. Your service dog trainer in Temple City will design a personalized K-9 training plan that spans three stages, featuring group classes such as Basic, Urban Canine, and CGC Level I & II, along with private field lessons, in-home or off-site private sessions, and board and train options with a local K-9 trainer.
