The Importance of Dog Training
At every age, dog training supports a dog’s well-being by promoting desirable behavior, enhancing understanding with their families, and deepening trust. Despite assumptions that older pets cannot change and learn, dogs are actually lifelong learners who are capable of acquiring skills at any stage of development. Their adaptability makes training meaningful from puppyhood through senior years. A professional dog training service adds value by delivering structured learning, specialized expertise, and gentle, yet effective methods. This approach plays an essential role in making sure each dog receives helpful guidance and appropriate training.
When you choose It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy, your dog benefits from customized training plans tailored to individual needs, a compassionate positive reinforcement style, and the guidance of highly experienced, certified trainers. These elements work together to cultivate obedience and understanding, giving you and your pet the opportunity to share a fulfilling partnership that fosters both greater happiness and improved well-being in daily life.

We are committed to creating a positive educational setting that encourages your dog’s development. Utilizing our unique strategies, we ensure ongoing success and happiness for both you and your cherished companion.
Service Dog Training
Our San Bernardino service dog training program is a carefully structured system managed by a certified service dog trainer and designed to prepare dogs for assistance roles. A K-9 trainer starts with a free consultation and assessment to determine your dog’s aptitude for service work and evaluate the handler’s requirements. Next, your service dog trainer in San Bernardino develops a three-stage K-9 training plan that can include group classes such as Basic, CGC Level I & II, and Urban Canine, along with private field lessons, in-home or off-site sessions, and board and train opportunities with a local K-9 trainer. Available certifications include AKC Canine Good Citizen®, AKC Community Canine®, Urban Canine Good Citizen®, and a Public Access Test to confirm skills and readiness.
The training is demanding, not all dogs will succeed, and some may fall short of being proper candidates, but those who rise to the challenge and complete the course will obtain a Certification ID card. Your dedication and time commitment to lessons and instruction are vital for your dog’s progress, as required by your K-9 trainer in San Bernardino , provided you can physically participate. Connect with us now to receive additional information and schedule your consultation for a time that works well for you.
AKC® Urban CGC
Join our AKC® CGC dog training services to focus on practical skills that enhance canine behavior in public settings. This class helps dogs handle daily challenges like exposure to stores, heavy traffic, bustling crowds, and more. Sessions are scheduled every Saturday at 1:00 pm, and the program concludes with a test. Dogs are required to have an AKC® registration number and the Canine Good Citizen title prior to enrolling. Aggression is not permitted, but adopted pets and service animals qualify for a $10 discount. If your dog needs guidance for difficult behaviors that can’t be accepted into this course, we can connect you with a dog aggression trainer or dog reactivity trainer.
Obedience Training
At It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy, our Group Obedience courses offer structure and fun, all guided by a trusted local dog trainer. Each class is limited to 12 pairs and runs for seven weeks, combining weekly hour-long sessions with 45-minute practice times each day. Skills we’ll teach include down stays, heel, sit, recall, and loose leash walking, plus strategies for tackling typical behavioral issues. Instruction also includes topics like greetings, exercise, nutrition, and practicing obedience with distractions as far as 30 feet away. Two levels of Intermediate Obedience are available to continue your dog’s progress and prepare them for the AKC® Community Canine and Canine Good Citizen evaluations. These certifications recognize your pet’s abilities, encourage legal benefits, and affirm well-mannered behavior. Choose training that builds confidence, fosters obedience, and creates a stronger human-canine bond!
AKC® Trick Dog Classes
Participate in the AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and take part in six weeks of laughter and learning with your canine friend! Throughout the course, your dog will master entertaining skills like spinning in circles, crawling, playing dead, barking on cue, shaking paws, jumping through a hoop, high-fiving, and several others. When your dog successfully demonstrates the required number of tricks, they can be proudly awarded the AKC® “Novice” or “Intermediate” Trick Dog Title.
During the Novice evaluation, dogs are expected to perform 10 tricks (or 5 if they also have a CGC title), while the Intermediate evaluation requires another 10 tricks beyond that. Under the supervision of AKC®-certified CGC Evaluators, this program is designed for dogs 6 months and older who have completed Basic Obedience or equivalent training. Take advantage of this special opportunity to deepen your bond, enhance performance, and enjoy memorable moments alongside your furry companion!
