Obedience Training
Engage in a rewarding and impactful training experience for your dog with our Group Obedience courses. Work closely with a personalized group of up to 12 owners and their dogs, where a dedicated local dog trainer will guide you through a 7-week program. Daily 45-minute practice sessions are paired with weekly hour-long sessions, diving deep into managing prevalent behavioral issues and mastering key commands like loose leash walking, recall, heel, and down and sit stays. Moreover, we give priority to stressing the value of a balanced diet and regular exercise, instilling proper greeting behavior, and reinforcing obedience commands with distractions reaching up to 30 feet. Further sharpen your dog’s abilities through our Intermediate Obedience Training programs, structured to prepare them for AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine assessments, which provide legal benefits and a well-mannered pet certification. See your dog thrive in obedience and social interactions with our expert guidance!

Service Dog Training
Our La Verne service dog training is a comprehensive program led by a certified service dog trainer. Our K-9 trainer starts the process with a no-cost consultation and assessment, gauging your dog’s assistance requirements and appropriateness for the program. After the initial assessment, your service dog trainer in La Verne will develop a tailored K-9 training protocol spanning three stages. These stages include group classes like Urban Canine, CGC Level I & II, and Basic, as well as one-on-one sessions either at home or at an off-site location with a local K-9 trainer., board and train options, and private field sessions. As part of the training, your dog will undergo testing for certifications like AKC Canine Good Citizen®, a Public Access Test, AKC Community Canine®, and Urban Canine Good Citizen®.
Even though the training is intensive, not every dog will succeed, and some may not be suitable, those that do successfully complete the program receive a Certification ID card. Your K-9 trainer in La Verne will ask that you make yourself available for instruction and lessons, as you’ll be an active participant (as long as you are physically able) in your dog’s comprehensive training. Contact us to receive more information and to set up your consultation at a time that works for you.
AKC® Urban CGC
Be a part of our AKC® CGC dog training services to benefit from a focused and pragmatic approach to shaping canine behavior in public settings. Help your dog master outdoor scenarios like crowds, traffic, and store visits with this class. Sessions take place on Saturdays at 1:00 pm and end with a test. Critical prerequisites consist of earning the Canine Good Citizen certification and having an AKC® registration. It’s important to note that aggressive behavior will not be tolerated, and service or adopted dogs qualify for a $10 discount. For dogs who have greater needs, extra guidance is available from a dog reactivity trainer or dog aggression trainer.
AKC® Trick Dog Classes
Enroll in the AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy for a fun-filled bonding experience with your furry companion! Over the course of 6 weeks, your furry friend will be taught a range of enjoyable tricks, like spinning in circles, shaking paws, playing dead, barking on cue, crawling, high-fiving, jumping through a hoop, and more. Your dog has the opportunity to earn an AKC® “Novice” or “Intermediate” Trick Dog Title by exhibiting a required number of tricks.
The Novice assessment entails presenting 10 tricks (or 5 with a CGC title), while Intermediate adds another 10 tricks. Supervised by AKC®-certified CGC Evaluators, our program is suitable for dogs aged 6 months and up who have met the requirements of Basic Obedience or an equivalent curriculum.
