The Importance of Dog Training
Dog training provides meaningful benefits for puppies, adult dogs, and seniors alike by shaping good habits, improving communication, and reinforcing the human-animal relationship. Despite assumptions that older pets cannot change and learn, dogs are actually lifelong learners who are capable of acquiring skills at any stage of development. Professional involvement makes a significant difference because our dog training service provides structure, knowledgeable instruction, and humane approaches. With this guidance, dogs receive the assistance and training they truly deserve for lifelong success.
Bringing your pet to It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy opens the door to positive reinforcement practices that encourage cooperation, individualized training programs tailored for specific needs, and knowledgeable guidance from certified professionals. This combination creates an environment where pets and owners learn together, strengthen their relationship, and pave the way for a more balanced, joyful, and healthy life shared between you and your loyal companion.

AKC® Trick Dog Classes
Take part in the AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and enjoy a lighthearted six-week program with your four-legged companion! During the course, your dog will practice amusing tricks like crawling, spinning in circles, barking on cue, jumping through a hoop, high-fiving, shaking paws, playing dead, and more entertaining behaviors. By showcasing a certain number of these tricks, your dog becomes eligible to earn the AKC® “Novice” or “Intermediate” Trick Dog Title.
The Novice assessment requires dogs to perform 10 tricks (or only 5 for those with a CGC title), while the Intermediate assessment calls for an additional 10 tricks. The class is led by AKC®-certified CGC Evaluators and is open to dogs who are at least 6 months old and have completed Basic Obedience or equivalent training. Take this opportunity to enrich your bond, help your dog grow, and enjoy experiences together that will become wonderful lasting memories!
Service Dog Training
Our Loma Linda service dog training program is a carefully structured system managed by a certified service dog trainer and designed to prepare dogs for assistance roles. Each K-9 trainer begins the process with a complimentary consultation and assessment to determine the dog’s aptitude and the type of assistance they require. From there, your service dog trainer in Loma Linda designs a three-stage K-9 training program that can incorporate group classes such as Urban Canine, Basic, and CGC Level I & II, alongside board and train options, private field lessons, and in-home or off-site sessions with a local K-9 trainer. Certification testing includes Urban Canine Good Citizen®, AKC Canine Good Citizen®, AKC Community Canine®, and a Public Access Test to validate skills.
The training is highly demanding, not all dogs will succeed, and some may prove to be unsuitable candidates, but those who do well and finish the program will be awarded a Certification ID card. Your attendance and engagement in both lessons and instruction are critical to full development, so your K-9 trainer in Loma Linda will ask you to participate if you are physically able to take part. Call us today to find out more and secure a consultation at your convenience.
Obedience Training
Our Group Obedience classes create the perfect environment to strengthen the bond between you and your dog, all under the guidance of a caring local dog trainer. Each class is limited to 12 participants and runs for seven weeks, blending weekly one-hour sessions with 45 minutes of practice each day. Throughout the program, your dog will learn recall, sit, loose leash walking, down stays, and heel, while also overcoming behavioral concerns. Training includes crucial life lessons such as greetings, distraction practice up to 30 feet, exercise, and nutrition. Once basics are mastered, your dog can advance through two levels of Intermediate Obedience to further prepare them for the AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine evaluations. These certifications validate your dog’s skills, enhance their reputation, and offer legal protections. Give your pet the tools to thrive socially and succeed in obedience!
