The Importance of Dog Training

Choosing It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy for your dog presents several advantages, including a focus on positive reinforcement methods that encourage obedience and build trust, personalized training programs designed to suit your dog’s individual needs, and the expertise of certified trainers with extensive experience. By implementing these methods, you establish a harmonious and enriching relationship with your four-legged companion for a happier and healthier life together.

Training dogs is important because it nurtures a strong human-canine connection, promotes positive behavior, and improves communication between pups and their families. Effective dog training isn’t bound by age, contrary to common misconception. The exceptional intelligence of dogs allows for learning and adaptation at any age. Given their effective training methods, structured learning, and expert guidance, professional dog training services play a crucial role in ensuring that dogs receive the support and training they deserve.

We believe in adapting our techniques to suit the specific requirements of each dog, whether that involves incorporating essential oils for relaxation and focus, providing personalized attention, or extending ongoing support. Our goal is to build a harmonious and happy relationship between you and your four-legged companion, founded on mutual respect and understanding. We work hard every day to establish a nurturing learning environment that supports your dog’s learning journey. Our distinctive approach ensures ongoing prosperity and contentment for both you and your beloved companion.

AKC® Trick Dog Classes

Participate in our AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and indulge in a joyful journey alongside your furry pal! Throughout a 6-week timeframe, your dog will be trained in an assortment of entertaining tricks, including barking on cue, spinning in circles, shaking paws, crawling, jumping through a hoop, high-fiving, playing dead, and more. Your dog can earn an AKC® “Intermediate” or “Novice” Trick Dog Title when they showcase a specific number of tricks.

In the Novice test, your dog needs to show 10 tricks (or 5 with a CGC title), and Intermediate introduces an extra set of 10 tricks. Administered by AKC®-licensed CGC Evaluators, our class invites dogs aged 6 months and older, provided they have successfully completed Basic Obedience training or a similar program. Make sure you don’t miss this chance to bond, develop skills, and have fun with your furry friend!

Service Dog Training

Embark on our Placentia service dog training journey, under the guidance of a certified service dog trainer. Our K-9 trainer kicks off the process with a complimentary consultation and assessment, evaluating your dog’s compatibility and support requirements. After the initial assessment, your service dog trainer in Placentia will develop a tailored K-9 training protocol spanning three stages. These phases include group workshops such as Urban Canine, Basic, and CGC Level I & II, in addition to private field sessions, individual lessons held either at your home or in alternate locations with a local K-9 trainer, and board and train options. The program includes assessments for credentials such as a Public Access Test, Urban Canine Good Citizen®, AKC Community Canine®, and AKC Canine Good Citizen®.

Even though the training is intensive, not all dogs will succeed, and some may not be well-qualified, those that do successfully complete the program receive a Certification ID card. Your K-9 trainer in Placentia believes that your involvement and readiness for instruction and lessons are essential for your dog’s comprehensive training, provided you are physically capable. Reach out to us for more details and to schedule an appointment for your consultation.

Obedience Training

Join our Group Obedience courses for a delightful and successful approach to training your dog. Immerse yourself in a small, supportive group with a maximum of 12 owners and dogs, guided by a dedicated local dog trainer over the span of 7 weeks. Delve into weekly hour-long sessions combined with daily 45-minute practice sessions, resolving common behavior concerns and mastering essential commands like sit and down stays, heel, recall, and loose leash walking. Also, we put emphasis on teaching proper greetings, reinforcing obedience commands amid distractions as distant as 30 feet, and highlighting the significance of nutrition and exercise. Enhance your dog’s abilities through our Intermediate Obedience Training levels, structured to prepare them for AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine assessments, providing a well-mannered pet certification and legal advantages. Witness the remarkable improvement in your dog’s obedience and social etiquette after completing their course with us!
