Dog Training in Rialto
It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy has been proudly serving our canine and human neighbors in the Rialto community since 2000. Karen Wildaman, who now serves as President and Training Director, began her journey in dog training at just 8 years old. Having honed her skills as a renowned dog trainer over decades and being certified by prestigious organizations like the American Pro Dog Training Association and Animal Behavior College, she is recognized as an expert in understanding canine behavior and psychology. With her compassionate and efficient approach, Karen has guided countless dogs and their caregivers to establish strong relationships and attain obedience and balance.
It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy believes in the importance of giving your dog an education, as it contributes significantly to their health, happiness, and ability to live harmoniously in our human world. Our objective is to strengthen the bond between you and your four-legged companion by employing positive reinforcement methods that are customized to your unique situation. We focus on fostering your dog’s growth by rejecting abusive practices or harsh force. Armed with over twenty years of experience and a proven track record of success, our training programs encompass a diverse range, addressing basic obedience, complex behavior challenges, and everything in between. Our skilled trainers are dedicated to nurturing positive and fulfilling relationships between pets and their dedicated owners.
The Importance of Dog Training
Dog training provides meaningful benefits for puppies, adult dogs, and seniors alike because it shapes good habits, improves communication, and reinforces the human-canine relationship. The common belief that training only works in young dogs is incorrect – the fact is that dogs remain capable of learning at all points in life because their intelligence and flexibility allow them to continue adapting. By working with a professional dog training service, pets gain access to consistent structure, expert leadership, and effective, compassionate techniques that supply them with the necessary training and proper support.
Dogs at It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy benefit from the dedication of certified trainers with extensive experience, individualized training tailored to each dog’s personality, and reinforcement techniques centered on compassion and trust. These elements work together to cultivate obedience and understanding, giving you and your pet the opportunity to share a fulfilling partnership that fosters both greater happiness and improved well-being in daily life.
Service Dog Training
Our Rialto service dog training provides a detailed, step-by-step program under the guidance of a certified service dog trainer. First, a K-9 trainer performs a complimentary consultation and assessment to determine your dog’s aptitude for service tasks and evaluate specific service requirements. The service dog trainer in Rialto then implements a three-phase K-9 training plan, featuring group classes such as Basic, CGC Level I & II, and Urban Canine, as well as board and train options, private field instruction, and in-home or off-site private sessions with a local K-9 trainer. Testing for certifications like AKC Community Canine®, AKC Canine Good Citizen®, Urban Canine Good Citizen®, and the Public Access Test is included to secure recognized credentials.
The training is rigorous, not every dog will achieve success, and a number may prove unfit for the program, but dogs who excel and reach completion will receive a Certification ID card as recognition. Your attendance and engagement in both lessons and instruction are critical to full development, so your K-9 trainer in Rialto will ask you to participate if you are physically able to take part. Reach out to us today to get more information and arrange a consultation that works with your availability.
Obedience Training
At It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy, our Group Obedience classes give you and your dog structured guidance with the help of a professional local dog trainer. Each class is limited to 12 participants and runs for seven weeks, blending weekly one-hour sessions with 45 minutes of practice each day. Commands such as heel, recall, loose leash walking, down stays, and sit are covered, along with tackling everyday behavior challenges. Beyond obedience, topics include exercise routines, nutrition advice, greetings, and handling distractions up to 30 feet away. After mastering the basics, dogs can continue with two Intermediate Obedience levels. These courses prepare them for AKC® Community Canine and Canine Good Citizen certifications, which are widely respected achievements that may provide legal advantages and confirm your pet’s manners. Our mission is to strengthen your dog’s obedience while promoting positive social interactions. Discover how much your dog can achieve with expert training and encouragement!
AKC® Urban CGC
By joining our AKC® CGC dog training services, you’ll be introduced to a structured program that focuses on building reliable canine behavior in public places. The program is tailored to prepare dogs for experiences such as dealing with crowds, walking near traffic, visiting stores, and beyond. Classes take place on Saturdays at 1:00 pm and conclude with a test to measure progress. Enrollment requires your dog to already have the Canine Good Citizen title and an AKC® registration number. Aggressive behavior is not allowed, but both adopted and service dogs qualify for a $10 discount. If your dog has greater training needs and doesn’t qualify for this course, we can put you in touch with a dog reactivity trainer or dog aggression trainer.

AKC® Trick Dog Classes
Sign up for the AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and begin an entertaining six-week journey with your furry best friend! This engaging course allows dogs to try entertaining tricks, including playing dead, barking on cue, shaking paws, high-fiving, crawling, spinning in circles, jumping through a hoop, and more. By performing a required number of tricks, your dog can proudly achieve either the AKC® “Intermediate” or “Novice” Trick Dog Title to showcase their talent and playful training success.
In order to pass the Novice test, dogs must successfully show 10 tricks (or 5 if they already have a CGC title), while Intermediate requires an extra 10 tricks. The class is led by AKC®-certified CGC Evaluators and is open to dogs who are at least 6 months old and have completed Basic Obedience or equivalent training. This is an exciting way to bond, polish skills, and enjoy meaningful time with your dog!
