Service Dog Training

Our Mira Loma service dog training provides a detailed, step-by-step program under the guidance of a certified service dog trainer. Each K-9 trainer begins with a free consultation and assessment to evaluate suitability, temperament, and the handler’s specific service requirements. After this, your service dog trainer in Mira Loma develops a tailored three-stage K-9 training plan that includes group classes such as CGC Level I & II, Basic, and Urban Canine, in addition to private field lessons, in-home or off-site private sessions, and board and train options with a local K-9 trainer. Testing for certifications like AKC Community Canine®, AKC Canine Good Citizen®, Urban Canine Good Citizen®, and a Public Access Test is included to confirm certification and public readiness.

AKC® Trick Dog Classes

Join the AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and enjoy an engaging six-week adventure with your canine partner! Throughout the course, your dog will master entertaining skills like spinning in circles, crawling, playing dead, barking on cue, shaking paws, jumping through a hoop, high-fiving, and several others. By performing a required number of tricks, your dog can proudly achieve either the AKC® “Intermediate” or “Novice” Trick Dog Title to showcase their talent and playful training success.

For the Novice level, your dog will need to show 10 tricks (or 5 if already holding a CGC title), and the Intermediate test requires an additional 10 new tricks. The class is carefully supervised by AKC®-certified CGC Evaluators and welcomes dogs who are at least 6 months of age with prior Basic Obedience or similar training. Obedience Training

Our Group Obedience program introduces dogs and owners to practical training methods under the guidance of a knowledgeable local dog trainer. With group sizes capped at 12, each seven-week course blends one-hour weekly classes with 45 minutes of daily practice at home. Skills we’ll teach include down stays, heel, sit, recall, and loose leash walking, plus strategies for tackling typical behavioral issues. The curriculum also incorporates greetings, maintaining obedience around distractions up to 30 feet, nutrition, and daily exercise. After mastering the basics, dogs can continue with two Intermediate Obedience levels. These courses prepare them for AKC® Community Canine and Canine Good Citizen certifications, which are widely respected achievements that may provide legal advantages and confirm your pet’s manners. AKC® Urban CGC

By joining our AKC® CGC dog training services, you’ll be introduced to a structured program that focuses on building reliable canine behavior in public places. This course specifically prepares dogs for obstacles such as managing crowds, traveling near traffic, visiting stores, and other similar challenges. Each session meets on Saturdays at 1:00 pm, with the course wrapping up in a testing evaluation. Dogs must already possess an AKC® registration number and the Canine Good Citizen title before participating. Aggressive dogs cannot participate, but service animals and adopted dogs may take advantage of a $10 discount. If your dog struggles with reactivity, we can connect you to a dog reactivity trainer or dog aggression trainer.
