Norco Dog Trainer

Dog Training in Norco

It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy has been committed to our Norco community since 2000, proudly catering to dogs and their human companions. Karen Wildaman, now leading as President and Training Director, took the first steps toward a dog training career at the age of 8. Armed with decades of professional expertise and certified by renowned organizations such as the American Pro Dog Training Association and Animal Behavior College, she is now a renowned dog trainer who brings an in-depth knowledge of canine behavior and psychology to the table. Through her compassionate and effective techniques, Karen has helped countless dogs and their owners build strong bonds and achieve obedience and harmony.

The core principle of It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy is centered around the necessity of providing your dog with an education, which is vital for their overall well-being and for their successful integration into society. We strive to enhance the bond between you and your furry family member by employing tailored positive reinforcement techniques. Our main goal is your dog’s success, which is why we steer clear of harsh force or abusive techniques. Leveraging over twenty years of practical knowledge and a history of successful outcomes, our training services span from basic obedience to the resolution of challenging behaviors. Our trainers are dedicated to fostering positive and fulfilling relationships between pets and their loving humans.

The Importance of Dog Training

Choosing It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy gives your dog access to a positive reinforcement system that fosters trust, the expertise of certified trainers, and personalized training designed for unique needs. These resources promote cooperation and understanding, allowing you and your pet to strengthen your bond while building a harmonious relationship that results in improved health, lasting happiness, and a fulfilling life together.

Dog training matters for dogs throughout their lives because it encourages proper behavior, strengthens interaction with families, and creates lifelong bonds. The belief that older dogs cannot learn effectively is inaccurate, because they remain just as capable of adapting and developing new skills at all ages. Since dogs are naturally intelligent and responsive, training continues to benefit them long-term. Choosing our professional dog training service provides not only a predictable structure, but also access to humane, proven strategies and professional expertise that gives every dog valuable support and training.

What Sets Us Apart

Karen Wildaman and our team highlight holistic strategies and trust in their work. We are committed to tailoring our techniques to match the individual needs of each dog, be it through incorporating essential oils for relaxation and focus, providing personalized attention, or extending ongoing support. Our mission is to create a balanced and respectful bond between you and your four-legged companion, centered on mutual understanding and appreciation. We strive to create an enriching learning space that encourages your dog’s progress. Our exceptional approach ensures sustained success and fulfillment for both you and your beloved pet.

Service Dog Training

Our Norco service dog training is a robust program directed by a certified service dog trainer to give each dog the proper guidance and support. Each K-9 trainer begins by conducting a free consultation and assessment to determine the dog’s suitability for assistance work and understand your specific needs. From there, your service dog trainer in Norco designs a three-stage K-9 training program that can incorporate group classes such as Urban Canine, Basic, and CGC Level I & II, alongside board and train options, private field lessons, and in-home or off-site sessions with a local K-9 trainer. Certification opportunities include AKC Canine Good Citizen®, Urban Canine Good Citizen®, AKC Community Canine®, and a Public Access Test.

The training is quite rigorous, not all dogs will make it through successfully, and some may not be the right candidates, but those that do excel and finish the program will be issued a Certification ID card. Your dedication and time commitment to lessons and instruction are vital for your dog’s progress, as required by your K-9 trainer in Norco, provided you can physically participate. Call us today to find out more and secure a consultation at your convenience.

Obedience Training

Group Obedience training offers a lively, supportive environment to learn alongside other dog owners under the guidance of a trusted local dog trainer. With group sizes capped at 12, each seven-week course blends one-hour weekly classes with 45 minutes of daily practice at home. Your dog will be introduced to key commands like heel, down stays, recall, sit, and loose leash walking while addressing undesirable behaviors. Sessions also cover broader needs such as greetings, nutrition, obedience with distractions up to 30 feet, and regular exercise. Once your dog completes the program, two levels of Intermediate Obedience help polish skills further. These courses prepare dogs for the AKC® Community Canine and Canine Good Citizen certifications, which provide recognition and potential legal benefits. Choose training that builds confidence, fosters obedience, and creates a stronger human-canine bond!

AKC® Trick Dog Classes

Join the AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and enjoy six weeks of interactive fun with your dog! Over the course, your dog will be introduced to amusing tricks like crawling, shaking paws, high-fiving, barking on cue, spinning in circles, playing dead, jumping through a hoop, and more. By showcasing a certain number of these tricks, your dog becomes eligible to earn the AKC® “Novice” or “Intermediate” Trick Dog Title.

The Novice assessment requires dogs to perform 10 tricks (or only 5 for those with a CGC title), while the Intermediate assessment calls for an additional 10 tricks. AKC®-certified CGC Evaluators oversee the course, which is open to all dogs at least 6 months of age who have previously completed Basic Obedience or a similar program. Don’t miss this chance to grow your partnership, improve your dog’s abilities, and create cherished, long-lasting memories together!

AKC® Urban CGC

Our AKC® CGC dog training services provide a hands-on way to strengthen how your dog behaves in different public settings. This class is designed to prepare for situations like dealing with traffic, entering stores, encountering crowds, and more. Sessions run every Saturday at 1:00 pm and finish with an evaluation test. Participation requires your dog to have both an AKC® registration number and the Canine Good Citizen title. Aggressive dogs are not permitted, and service dogs or adopted dogs are given a $10 discount. If your dog needs more targeted correction, we can pair you with a dog reactivity trainer or dog aggression trainer.
