Dog Training in Rancho Cucamonga
With a history dating back to 2000, It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy has been serving dogs and humans in an effort to be an invaluable asset to the Rancho Cucamonga community. Since she was 8 years old, Karen Wildaman, our President and Training Director, has been passionate about training dogs. With a wealth of experience and certifications from leading institutions such as the American Pro Dog Training Association and Animal Behavior College, she is now an expert dog trainer with an outstanding wealth of knowledge in canine behavior and psychology. Karen’s empathetic and effective methods have aided numerous dogs and their owners in cultivating lasting bonds and achieving obedience and equilibrium.
It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy is founded on the principle that educating your dog is essential for their happiness, health, and successful navigation of our human world. We aim to fortify the relationship between you and your cherished canine companion by utilizing positive reinforcement strategies that are tailored to your distinct circumstances. Our primary concern is your dog’s progress, so we never resort to aggressive force or harmful methods. With more than twenty years of experience and a proven history of success, our training programs cover a broad spectrum, from foundational obedience to challenging behavior management. We are committed to building strong and loving relationships between pets and their adoring owners through the expertise of our skilled trainers.
The Importance of Dog Training
Enrolling your dog in It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy provides numerous benefits, including an emphasis on positive reinforcement techniques that build trust and obedience, the expertise of highly experienced and certified trainers, and personalized training plans tailored to your dog’s unique needs. This approach nurtures a harmonious and gratifying bond between you and your furry friend, leading to a happier and healthier life together.
Dog training plays a pivotal role in strengthening the bond between humans and their furry companions, facilitating better communication, and shaping good behavior. The phrase, “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” is completely false. Dogs’ ability to learn and adapt at any age is a testament to their exceptional intelligence. Because a professional dog training service provides structured learning, expert guidance, and the most humane, effective training methods, it plays a critical role in ensuring that dogs get the training and support they deserve.
What Sets Us Apart
Trust-building and a holistic perspective are key focuses for Karen Wildaman and our team. Tailoring our methods to suit each dog’s unique needs is central to our philosophy, whether that entails incorporating essential oils for relaxation and focus, providing personalized attention, or offering ongoing support. We work to nurture a harmonious and strong connection between you and your furry buddy, highlighting mutual understanding and respect. We work hard to create a nurturing atmosphere conducive to your dog’s learning. Utilizing our unique strategies, we ensure ongoing success and happiness for both you and your beloved companion.
AKC® Trick Dog Classes
Join the AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and indulge in a joyful journey with your beloved dog! Over the course of 6 weeks, your furry friend will acquire a range of fun tricks like high-fiving, jumping through a hoop, barking on command, playing dead, crawling, shaking paws, spinning in circles, and additional tricks. Your furry companion can achieve an AKC® “Novice” or “Intermediate” Trick Dog Title through the demonstration of a specific number of tricks.
In the Novice evaluation, your dog will display 10 tricks (or 5 with a CGC title), and Intermediate requires mastering an additional 10 tricks. Conducted by AKC®-endorsed CGC Evaluators, our session welcomes dogs aged 6 months and beyond, who have already passed Basic Obedience or a similar course. Make sure you don’t miss this chance to bond, develop skills, and have fun with your furry friend!

Service Dog Training
Dive into our Rancho Cucamonga service dog training – a complete program led by a certified service dog trainer. Our K-9 trainer initiates the process with a no-cost consultation and assessment, evaluating your dog’s support requirements and compatibility with the program. After the initial evaluation, your service dog trainer in Rancho Cucamonga will create a bespoke K-9 training strategy across three phases. These stages include group classes like Urban Canine, Basic, and CGC Level I & II, as well as private field sessions, one-on-one sessions either at home or at an off-site location with a local K-9 trainer, and train and board options. The training process involves testing for certifications such as AKC Canine Good Citizen®, a Public Access Test, Urban Canine Good Citizen®, and AKC Community Canine®.
While the training is demanding, not all dogs will pass, and some may not be good candidates, those who succeed will receive a Certification ID card upon completion. Your K-9 trainer in Rancho Cucamonga will ask that you make yourself available for instruction and lessons, as you’ll be an active participant (as long as you are physically able) in your dog’s comprehensive training. Get in touch with us for more information and to arrange your consultation session.
AKC® Urban CGC
Take advantage of our AKC® CGC dog training services for a systematic and practical approach to refining canine behavior in public environments. Get your dog prepared for outdoor hurdles like crowds, traffic, and stores through this class. Sessions are held on Saturdays at 1:00 pm and include a test. Prerequisites include holding the Canine Good Citizen certification and having an AKC® registration number. Keep in mind that aggressive behavior is not accepted, and adopted or service dogs are entitled to a $10 discount. If you’re unsure whether your dog is ready for this course, we can connect you with a dog aggression trainer or dog reactivity trainer to better address those concerns.
Obedience Training
Experience the fun and success of our Group Obedience courses. Work closely with a maximum of 12 owners and dogs in a supportive group setting led by a dedicated local dog trainer over 7 weeks. Delve into daily 45-minute practice sessions combined with weekly hour-long sessions, mastering essential commands like loose leash walking, recall, heel, and down and sit stays. We also place special emphasis on reinforcing obedience commands even with distractions spanning up to 30 feet, teaching proper greetings, and promoting healthy nutrition and exercise. Develop your dog’s skills with our Intermediate Obedience Training tiers, designed to equip them for AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine evaluations, granting a well-mannered pet certification and legal benefits. See the difference in your dog’s obedience and social manners with our helpful guidance!
