AKC® Urban CGC

Join our AKC® CGC dog training sessions for a targeted and results-oriented strategy toward enhancing canine behavior in public spaces. Prepare your dog to handle outdoor situations including crowds, traffic, and shopping with this class. Join us on Saturdays at 1:00 pm for sessions followed by a test. Prerequisites include obtaining the Canine Good Citizen certification and being AKC® registered. Take note that aggressive behavior is against the rules, and there is a $10 discount for service or adopted dogs.

Obedience Training

Embrace a fun and results-driven method of training your dog by enrolling in Group Obedience courses through our professional training service. Participate in a group of no more than 12 owners and dogs, where you’ll receive guidance from a committed local dog trainer over a 7-week period. Delve into daily 45-minute practice sessions combined with weekly hour-long sessions, mastering essential commands like loose leash walking, recall, heel, and down and sit stays. Also, we put emphasis on teaching proper greetings, reinforcing obedience commands amid distractions as distant as 30 feet, and highlighting the significance of nutrition and exercise. Further develop your dog’s abilities through our Intermediate Obedience Training levels, structured to prepare them for AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine assessments, providing a well-mannered pet certification and legal advantages. Service Dog Training

Experience our comprehensive Hacienda Heights service dog training, guided by a certified service dog trainer. A K-9 trainer will begin with a free consultation and assessment to determine your dog’s suitability and assistance needs. Upon completing the initial consultation, your service dog trainer in Hacienda Heights will devise a customized, three-phase K-9 training program. These stages include group classes like Urban Canine, Basic, and CGC Level I & II, as well as private field sessions, one-on-one sessions either at home or at an off-site location with a local K-9 trainer, and train and board options. Your dog’s training will include assessments for credentials like AKC Canine Good Citizen®, AKC Community Canine®, a Public Access Test, and Urban Canine Good Citizen®.

Although the training is rigorous, not all dogs will make it through to the end of training, and some may not be the right fit, those that do pass will receive a Certification ID card. To ensure the success of your dog’s comprehensive training, your K-9 trainer in Hacienda Heights will require your active participation and availability for instruction and lessons if you are physically capable. AKC® Trick Dog Classes

Participate in our AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and indulge in a joyful journey alongside your furry pal! In a 6-week span, your dog will pick up numerous enjoyable tricks, such as barking on command, jumping through a hoop, high-fiving, crawling, spinning in circles, shaking paws, playing dead, and other tricks. Your dog can earn an AKC® “Intermediate” or “Novice” Trick Dog Title by executing a required number of tricks.

The Novice assessment requires dogs to show off 10 tricks (or 5 if they hold a CGC title), while Intermediate includes an additional 10 tricks. Directed by AKC®-accredited CGC Evaluators, our class is open to dogs aged 6 months and up, provided they have completed Basic Obedience training or a similar program.
