AKC® Trick Dog Classes
Participate in our AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and have a wonderful time with your furry buddy! Across 6 weeks, your dog will be trained in numerous entertaining tricks, including playing dead, barking on command, high-fiving, shaking paws, spinning in circles, jumping through a hoop, crawling, and additional tricks. Your canine companion can earn an AKC® “Intermediate” or “Novice” Trick Dog Title by showcasing a certain number of tricks.
The Novice test involves presenting 10 tricks (or 5 with a CGC title), while Intermediate involves showcasing an additional 10 tricks. Supervised by AKC®-certified CGC Evaluators, our workshop is suitable for dogs aged 6 months and beyond who have fulfilled the prerequisites of Basic Obedience or similar training. Take this opportunity to deepen your connection, refine skills, and enjoy precious moments with your loyal dog!
AKC® Urban CGC
Choose our AKC® CGC dog training program to experience a structured and effective method for refining canine behavior in public areas. Equip your dog to master outdoor challenges including crowds, traffic, and store outings with this class. Sessions occur on Saturdays at 1:00 pm and conclude with a test. Necessary prerequisites consist of obtaining the Canine Good Citizen certification and an AKC® registration code. Take note that aggressive behavior is against the rules, and adopted or service dogs qualify for a $10 discount. If your dog doesn’t qualify for this course because of challenging behavior, we can connect you to a dog aggression trainer or dog reactivity trainer for added support.
Obedience Training
Take advantage of our Group Obedience courses for a fun and results-oriented training experience. Join a tightly knit group of up to 12 owners and their dogs, where you’ll work alongside a dedicated local dog trainer through a comprehensive, 7-week program. Each week, you’ll enjoy hour-long sessions alongside daily 45-minute practice sessions, focusing on handling common behavioral challenges and fundamental commands such as recall, down and sit stays, heel, and loose leash walking. Also, we pay attention to highlighting the importance of nutrition and exercise, teaching appropriate greetings, and reinforcing obedience commands with distractions up to 30 feet away. Enhance your dog’s skills with our Intermediate Obedience Training levels, designed to ready them for AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine evaluations, which grant legal benefits and a well-mannered pet certification. You’ll be amazed by your dog’s mastery of obedience and social manners after spending some time with us!
Service Dog Training
Enroll your dog in our San Dimas service dog training – a detailed program spearheaded by a certified service dog trainer. Our K-9 trainer starts the process with a no-cost consultation and assessment, gauging your dog’s assistance requirements and appropriateness for the program. After completing the initial evaluation, your service dog trainer in San Dimas will create a personalized K-9 training regimen across three phases, including group classes like Basic, CGC Level I & II, and Urban Canine, as well as board and train options, private field lessons, and in-home or off-site private lessons with a local K-9 trainer. Certifications including a Public Access Test, AKC Community Canine®, AKC Canine Good Citizen®, and Urban Canine Good Citizen® will be part of the training process.
Some dogs won’t be suitable for the course or able to complete it because of its demanding nature, but dogs who are successful will earn a Certification ID card. Your K-9 trainer in San Dimas stresses the significance of your active participation and availability for instruction and lessons to ensure the success of your dog’s comprehensive training, if you are physically capable of doing so.
