Obedience Training

For 7 weeks, you’ll join a small, focused group with no more than 12 owners and dogs as you learn from a committed local dog trainer. Daily 45-minute practice sessions are complemented by weekly hour-long sessions, addressing prevalent behavioral concerns and covering essential commands like recall, down and sit stays, heel, and loose leash walking. In addition, we concentrate on teaching appropriate greetings, advocating for balanced nutrition and regular exercise, and reinforcing obedience commands amidst distractions that can be as far as 30 feet away. Develop your dog’s capabilities further through our Intermediate Obedience Training tiers, aimed at preparing them for AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine assessments, which offer legal advantages and a well-mannered pet certification. AKC® Trick Dog Classes

Join our AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and have a blast with your furry buddy! For 6 weeks, your dog will learn numerous enjoyable tricks, such as playing dead, barking on cue, crawling, spinning in circles, jumping through a hoop, shaking paws, high-fiving, and additional tricks. Your dog has the chance to achieve an AKC® “Intermediate” or “Novice” Trick Dog Title by demonstrating a certain set of tricks.

For the Novice evaluation, your dog must demonstrate 10 tricks (or 5 with a CGC title), and Intermediate adds another set of 10 tricks. Supervised by AKC®-certified CGC Evaluators, our program is suitable for dogs aged 6 months and up who have fulfilled the prerequisites of Basic Obedience or an equivalent course. Make sure you don’t miss this chance to bond, develop skills, and have fun with your furry friend!

AKC® Urban CGC

Enroll in our AKC® CGC dog training program for a targeted and hands-on method to improve canine conduct in public environments. Prepare your dog for real-world scenarios like navigating crowds, traffic, and stores through this class. Join us on Saturdays at 1:00 pm for sessions that conclude with a test. Necessary prerequisites consist of obtaining the Canine Good Citizen certification and an AKC® registration code. It’s important to remember that aggressive behavior will not be tolerated, and adopted or service dogs are eligible for a $10 discount.

Service Dog Training

Enroll your dog in our Diamond Bar service dog training – a detailed program spearheaded by a certified service dog trainer. The process begins with our K-9 trainer offering a free consultation and assessment to ascertain your dog’s suitability and assistance needs. After the initial assessment, your service dog trainer in Diamond Bar will create a bespoke K-9 training strategy across three phases. These stages include group classes like Basic, CGC Level I & II, and Urban Canine, in addition to individual lessons conducted at home or in an off-site location with a local K-9 trainer, board and train options, and private field sessions. The training process involves testing for certifications such as AKC Canine Good Citizen®, a Public Access Test, Urban Canine Good Citizen®, and AKC Community Canine®.

While the training is rigorous, not all dogs may pass, and some dogs might not be good candidates, successful completion results in a Certification ID card. Unless you are physically unable to participate, your K-9 trainer in Diamond Bar will advise that your active involvement and readiness for instruction and lessons are vital for your dog’s comprehensive training.
