AKC® Urban CGC

Enroll now in our AKC® CGC dog training program for an effective and structured method to improve canine conduct in public areas. Get your dog ready to face outdoor hurdles such as crowds, traffic, and stores with this class. Join us on Saturdays at 1:00 pm for sessions followed by a test. Essential qualifications are possessing the Canine Good Citizen title and an AKC® registration code. Remember that aggressive behavior is not permitted, and adopted or service dogs receive a $10 discount.

Obedience Training

Immerse your dog in a fun and productive learning environment with our Group Obedience courses. Enjoy a personalized experience within a group of up to 12 owners and dogs, where you and your pup will learn from a dedicated local dog trainer over the course of 7 weeks. Daily 45-minute practice sessions are paired with weekly hour-long sessions, diving deep into managing prevalent behavioral issues and mastering key commands like loose leash walking, recall, heel, and down and sit stays. In addition, we prioritize reinforcing obedience commands amidst distractions that can be as far as 30 feet away, underlining the significance of nutrition and exercise, and teaching appropriate greetings. Elevate your dog’s abilities with our Intermediate Obedience Training levels, tailored to prepare them for AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine evaluations, providing a well-mannered pet certification and legal advantages. Join us for a rewarding experience as your dog begins to excel in obedience and social manners!

AKC® Trick Dog Classes

Sign up for our AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and have a wonderful time with your canine companion! Across 6 weeks, your dog will be trained in numerous entertaining tricks, including playing dead, barking on command, high-fiving, shaking paws, spinning in circles, jumping through a hoop, crawling, and additional tricks. Earning an AKC® “Novice” or “Intermediate” Trick Dog Title is attainable for your dog by executing a set number of tricks.

The Novice test includes 10 tricks (or 5 with a CGC title), and Intermediate incorporates another 10 tricks. Supervised by AKC®-certified CGC Evaluators, our program is suitable for dogs aged 6 months and up who have fulfilled the prerequisites of Basic Obedience or an equivalent course. Service Dog Training

Experience our comprehensive Garden Grove service dog training, guided by a certified service dog trainer. Our K-9 trainer starts the process with a no-cost consultation and assessment, gauging your dog’s assistance requirements and appropriateness for the program. Upon completing the initial consultation, your service dog trainer in Garden Grove will craft a K-9 training program tailored across three phases. These phases include group workshops such as Urban Canine, Basic, and CGC Level I & II, along with board and train options, private field sessions, and individual lessons held either at your residence or elsewhere with a local K-9 trainer. Certification exams including a Public Access Test, AKC Canine Good Citizen®, Urban Canine Good Citizen®, and AKC Community Canine® will be part of the training process.

The training is thorough and demanding, and not every dog will meet the standards or be suitable for the course, but successful completion earns a Certification ID card.
