Service Dog Training

Immerse your dog in our El Monte service dog training – a thorough program overseen by a certified service dog trainer. Our K-9 trainer starts the process with a no-cost consultation and assessment, evaluating your dog’s suitability and support requirements. Following the introductory session, your service dog trainer in El Monte will devise a specialized K-9 training plan divided into three stages. These phases incorporate group workshops such as Basic, CGC Level I & II, and Urban Canine, along with board and train options, individual lessons held either at your home or at another location with a local K-9 trainer, and private field sessions. The program includes assessments for credentials such as a Public Access Test, Urban Canine Good Citizen®, AKC Community Canine®, and AKC Canine Good Citizen®.

Although the training is challenging, not all dogs will finish the course, and some may not be the right fit, those who successfully complete the program receive a Certification ID card. AKC® Trick Dog Classes

Sign up for our AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy and have a wonderful time with your canine companion! Throughout a 6-week timeframe, your dog will master an assortment of entertaining tricks, including crawling, shaking paws, playing dead, barking on command, jumping through a hoop, spinning in circles, high-fiving, and more. Obtaining an AKC® “Intermediate” or “Novice” Trick Dog Title is possible for your dog through the performance of a set quantity of tricks.

In the Novice test, your dog needs to show 10 tricks (or 5 with a CGC title), and Intermediate introduces an extra set of 10 tricks. Managed by AKC®-approved CGC Evaluators, our workshop caters to dogs aged 6 months and above who have successfully completed Basic Obedience or an equivalent training curriculum. Obedience Training

Participate in our Group Obedience courses for a lively and effective training experience. Each group is limited to 12 owners and their dogs, ensuring an intimate setting where you’ll collaborate and learn from a skilled local dog trainer throughout a 7-week program. Weekly hour-long sessions are paired with daily 45-minute practice sessions, diving deep into key commands like sit and down stays, heel, recall, and loose leash walking and managing prevalent behavioral issues. Furthermore, we give attention to reinforcing obedience commands in the face of distractions up to 30 feet away, emphasizing the importance of nutrition and physical activity, and instilling proper greeting manners. Boost your dog’s skills with our Intermediate Obedience Training programs, crafted to ready them for AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine evaluations, offering a well-mannered pet certification and legal benefits. AKC® Urban CGC

Participate now in our AKC® CGC dog training program to experience a dedicated and hands-on method for improving canine conduct in public settings. Prepare your dog for real-world scenarios like navigating crowds, traffic, and stores through this class. Join us on Saturdays at 1:00 pm for sessions followed by a test. Prior qualifications consist of obtaining the Canine Good Citizen certification and possessing an AKC® registration ID. Please be aware that aggressive behavior is not allowed, and there is a $10 discount available for service or adopted dogs.
