Service Dog Training

Embark on our La Puente service dog training journey, under the guidance of a certified service dog trainer. Our K-9 trainer kicks things off with a complimentary consultation and assessment to determine your dog’s suitability and assistance needs. After the initial evaluation, your service dog trainer in La Puente will create a bespoke K-9 training strategy across three phases. These stages include group classes like CGC Level I & II, Basic, and Urban Canine, as well as one-on-one sessions either at home or at an off-site location with a local K-9 trainer, private field session, and board and train options. AKC® Trick Dog Classes

Enroll in our AKC® Trick Dog Class at It’s A Dog’s World K9 Academy for an enjoyable adventure with your four-legged friend! During the 6-week course, your dog will master numerous thrilling tricks, including spinning in circles, playing dead, shaking paws, barking on cue, jumping through a hoop, crawling, high-fiving, and many others. Your dog can earn an AKC® “Intermediate” or “Novice” Trick Dog Title by executing a required number of tricks.

The Novice test involves presenting 10 tricks (or 5 with a CGC title), while Intermediate involves showcasing an additional 10 tricks. Directed by AKC®-accredited CGC Evaluators, our class is open to dogs aged 6 months and up, provided they have completed Basic Obedience training or a similar program. Take this opportunity to build a stronger bond, enhance abilities, and relish playful moments with your furry companion!

Obedience Training

Opt for our Group Obedience courses for a fun and successful dog training experience. For a 7-week span, you’ll experience our tailored approach within a group of up to 12 owners and dogs as you collaborate with a dedicated local dog trainer. Weekly hour-long sessions are complemented by daily 45-minute practice sessions, covering essential commands like loose leash walking, heel, sit and down stays, recall, and addressing common behavioral issues. We also emphasize the significance of proper nutrition and regular exercise, instruct on suitable greeting behaviors, and strengthen obedience commands with distractions at distances of up to 30 feet. Further sharpen your dog’s abilities through our Intermediate Obedience Training programs, structured to prepare them for AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine assessments, which provide legal benefits and a well-mannered pet certification. AKC® Urban CGC

Register for our AKC® CGC dog training program for a comprehensive and hands-on approach to refining canine behavior in public environments. Prepare your dog for outdoor encounters such as crowds, traffic, and shopping trips through this class. Train your dog to navigate outdoor challenges like crowds, traffic, and store visits with this class. Key requirements involve holding the Canine Good Citizen title and an AKC® registration number. It should be noted that aggressive behavior is not allowed, and service or adopted dogs qualify for a $10 discount. If your dog needs additional training support, we can set you up with a dog aggression trainer or dog reactivity trainer.
