Requirements:

 Age: 4 months and up

Vaccination: Must be complete and up to date: DHPP or DAP (Distemper Parvo) at a yearly rate, Rabies, and Bordetella at a yearly rate

Flea and Tick Preventive: oral, topical, or collars are all acceptable

Basic Obedience

This class focuses on starting and building the cornerstones of obedience. The trainer will demonstrate and instruct you how to teach as well as maintain commands. This is a 1-hour class that meets once a week for 7 weeks.


This class covers the following commands:

  • Loose Leash walking
  • Automatic sit (the dog will sit automatically when you come to a stop)
  • Sit & Down
  • Sit & Down Stay (at the end of a 6 foot & 30-foot-long line)
  • Recall (“come” command)
  • Wait (remain behind thresholds to not bolt out of doors)
  • Place command (hold a settled position on a bed, blanket, or cot)
  • Proper greetings with other dogs and people
  • Lecture topics: stop digging, chewing, playful biting, barking excessively, jumping up on people, furniture, and doors, housebreaking

And, all obedience commands will be covered with plenty of distractions and distance!

Pricing: $175 (full payment required before the start date).

Length of Class: 7-week course. The first week is orientation without your dog. Where the trainer goes over expectations, answers questions, and reviews your paperwork and vaccines to make sure everything is in order. Week 2 through 7 is training with your dog.
