8 Service Dog Secrets
February 27, 2015The Do’s and Don’ts of The Dog Park
March 25, 2015If you’re looking for fun, sun, and a dog-gone good time in Chino this weekend, look no further than the Bark Around Ayala Park! The event kicks off at 9 a.m. this Saturday, March 14 at the beautiful Ruben S. Ayala Park, located at 5665 Edison Avenue near the Chino Valley YMCA. The event will feature a morning full of pooch-related festivities, along with booths presented by vendors and experts in the dog community.
“We’re really looking forward to meeting new people, and their furry friends,” Karen Widaman, owner and director of It’s A Dog’s World K-9 Academy says. “This will be a great opportunity to talk with dog owners who have questions about behavior or might be looking for a good trainer.”
Dogs are the ultimate stars of this outdoor extravaganza, and can engage in a variety of activities. Bark will host a leisurely, group dog walk to unite all dog lovers (and dogs) in attendance. Bring along your pup’s favorite outfit and participate in the dog fashion show to let their inner furr-onista out. Guests can also whet their appetites at the pancake breakfast fundraiser.
For more energetic activities, dogs can participate in the Little Dog Race where canines of a tinier stature can compete for the title of quickest pooch. There will also be a Best Trick Contest to show off specialty talents and provide thrills for the crowd. Dogs can also venture onto the Dog Obstacle Course to test their abilities and venture beyond the traditional walk through the park.
The action doesn’t stop there, the Chino Police Department will also be on hand with the K-9 Unit to speak to guests and perform demonstrations. The Chino Valley Independent Fire District will also be bringing along an elite batch of pooches, known as the Urban Search and Rescue Team.
Karen Widaman will be at her booth throughout the event, joined by Oils Practitioner, Liz Reyes, and Canine Massage Therapist, Lori Bleich. The three women offer a trifecta of dog knowledge, and will be happy to chat with Bark attendees.
“This is shaping up to be a fanstastic event,” Widaman says. “Where else can you find a dog fashion show, obstacle course, pancakes, and great information for your pet all before noon? It’s going to be a great day!”
The event comes courtesy of Healthy Chino and The Chino Valley YMCA, and invites dog lovers of all ages to attend this upbeat event. Furry friends will need to attend on-leash, and owners must bring along vaccination papers. For more information, contact (909) 334 – 3478.
