Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and Cupid is taking aim – at your pet! One of the purest forms of love is born when a dog owner finds their fur-ever friend, and the joy that dogs give in return is priceless. In honor of our four-legged family members, we’re rounding up a list that breaks down the attributes of being a pet owner.
Dogs Are More Affordable Than Therapy
How many times has your dog cocked his head to one side, listening intently as you recount your terrible day at work or a date night gone wrong? Dogs love without judgment, and will provide you with wet kisses and warm nuzzles whenever you need a cuddle. Forget the pricey therapist, dogs are more affordable and much cuter.
Dog’s Are Scientifically Good For Humans
A study published in the journal Science reveals that there’s scientific proof that dog’s increase homosapien’s happiness. When pups and owners exchange a look, both get a boost of the positivity-inducing hormone oxytocin. The study showed that dogs had a 130% rise in oxytocin levels, and owners showed a 300% increase. That’s a lot of love!
The Ultimate Alarm Clock
If you’re a dog owner, you’ve been greeted from a nightly slumber or a nap with a kiss from your pooch. Whether waking you for a day of work or rousing you too early on a Sunday, their excitement for a new day is admirable and their love for you is endless.
You Always Have Someone Waiting For You
Our furry friends are loyal creatures that will devoutly wait at the window or door until their owner finally makes their way home. Can you think you think of a single human with that amount of patience and adoration? Hopefully not, while it’s cute behavior for a dog it’s a bit peculiar for people!
They Keep You Active
Owners who take pride in having a pet are diligent about walking them. At the minimum there’s multiple restroom walks, but many owners find peace and even exhilaration when walking their pet. Dogs that can jog with their owners add a sense of companionship to the exercise process, and can encourage activity on days that owners are thinking about skipping their workout.
Dogs Can Be Comedians In Disguise
Remember when your pup got a cereal box stuck on his head? Or maybe she chased her tail so long that she toppled over from dizziness? And then how about a pup that has a habit of running in place while they sleep? It’s these little comedic gems that make owning a dog not only a joyous experience, but a hilarious one as well.
Love
Owning a dog can be summed up in one simple, four-letter word: Love. The joy they bring into an owners life is priceless, and there’s no denying a good dog is a friend for life.
